[I occupy] the extreme right-wing edge of the left-wing movement.

Isaiah Berlin, quoted by David Brooks, Toronto Star, 22 August 2020, p. IN6

Where would you place yourself in this regard? Right? Left? Center?

All is flux, according to Heraclitus (which must be true, or politics would be unnecessary). And the left—being more comfortable than the right when it comes to change—is always on the qui vive, seeking solutions to issues as they reveal themselves. But if some change must be addressed and the legislature is beset by faction, common ground can only be found in the center of the political spectrum. Berlin places himself in the sweet spot.
